Norman County Environmental Services will be holding a “Brown Goods” collection on May 2-4, 2013. This event will be held at the Norman County Demolition Landfill site at 3291 County Highway 19 during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during these three days only. The landfill is located five miles west on County Highway 19 from State Highway 32 or seven miles east on County Highway 19 from State Highway 9. It is located on the south side of the highway. Just turn in the driveway with the big sign by it.
What are “Brown Goods” you ask, the definition we are using for this collection includes the following items: televisions, computers, computer monitors, printers, VCRs, stereo equipment, small electrical appliances, and microwave ovens. These items will be taken at no charge during the special collection.
Also this year we will be taking “White Goods”, which are defined as appliances which contain refrigerants and/or mercury switches such as: washers, dryers, freezers, and refrigerators, etc. These items will now be taken at no charge during this special collection.
